Just Rambling

So, I was looking through the blogs and still wasn’t sure what to write about. Like other authors I wanted to write about something deep. I started a blog about inspiration several times, but couldn’t really figure out more than a paragraph to write. Why? Because what I find inspiring may not work for others.

I even considered writing about dreams. Not dreams as in goals, but dreams as in the doors to the subconscious. There’s one dream I have playing on my mind. Since I remembered it, I can’t seem to stop thinking about it. But then that doesn’t really seem like the proper thing to talk about either.

Could I combine the two? Many authors do use dreams for inspiration. Could that dream make a good story? Well, probably not to anyone but me. LOL. But then I’m sure that there are many people who say that. The truth is, you never know. A few of my stories began as a fantasy or a dream. One that I didn’t really believe anyone else would be interested in reading, but I sat down and wrote them. And people liked the stories.

So that begs the question: What makes one dream worth writing about and another not? Well, that’s up to you. I had one dream about a sexy vampire that I decided to write about and another about a giant turtle attacking a cruise ship that I decided maybe should just remain safe and secure in my dream journal. But the truth is, there’s nothing wrong with either one. It just depends on where you allow your imagination to take you. How far you allow yourself to go—whether you will allow yourself to be swept away with the story or not.
