Lorelei James’ newest Rough Riders novel is only available in eBook format
July 08, 2011 – Cincinnati–International publisher Samhain Publishing today announced that author Lorelei James’ eBook romance Chasin’ Eight, released June 28, 2011, has landed on the New York Times Bestseller list for eBook Fiction (20) and the USA Today List (83) for eBooks and print books. Chasin’ Eight is only available in eBook format.
“Lorelei James is one of the brightest stars in publishing,” said Christina Brashear, president, Samhain Publishing. “Her position on both lists is the highest ranking to date for any digital-first published author, and we’re thrilled that she was able to achieve this at Samhain.”
In an acknowledgment of the growing sales and influence of digital publishing, The New York Times recently began publishing ebook bestseller lists in fiction and nonfiction. The lists are compiled from weekly data from publishers, chain bookstores, independent booksellers and online retailers, among other sources. Since 1935 The Times has published bestseller lists, widely considered the industry standard. Best-seller lists are also published by Publishers Weekly, a trade publication, and newspapers including The Los Angeles Times and USA Today.
The USA Today Best-Selling Book list is different from the NYT model, in that it combines both eBook and traditional print books in the same list.
