Inspiration comes from many sources for romance writers. I find photos to be a great source of inspiration for plot, setting, and characters. This used to mean a messy folder full of ripped out magazine pages, but I’ve found a much more organized way to keep track of all my eye candy.
Pinterest. With its bulletin board set up, this web app lends itself perfectly to the needs of the romance writer. I have boards for specific settings – my current obsession is the “Castles” board. I also have pinned some cool city and quaint small town locations that might one day be story settings. Perhaps my naughtiest board so far is my “Bedroom” collection of wonderful rooms for my characters to enjoy. My favorite board? “Heroes”! What a wonderful reason to scroll through hundreds of pictures of handsome men. Hope this helps you organize your inspiration files!
