Come take a wild, romantic ride through the streets of Gold Dust:
…Sarah decided she really would get out of the tub and get dressed. She spoke to Anne as she toweled off.

“I’ll be dressed in a few minutes, Anne.” Sarah waited waited for a reply as she pulled on her thick cotton stockings, but all she heard was the sound of men’s voices going past her room and fading down the hall.

“Anne?” There was still no answer. “Is everything all right?”

Alarmed, she reached for her money belt, startled to find it wasn’t there….She stuck her head through the curtain, wet hair flapping about her face, but Anne was nowhere to be seen.

Trying to remain calm, Sarah pulled her head back inside and fastened her dress up as best she could….After yanking on her black leather shoes, she grabbed up the few dollars remaining on the bench and jammed them into her purse. She snatched up her discarded clothes, flung back the curtain, and dashed from the room.

It was a short dash. Sarah collided with someone, her face crushed into a man’s shirt. She had a heady impression of a firm, muscular chest and the smell of clean clothes and strong soap. Jolted from her panic, she pushed herself away and looked up into a strong, youthful face full of confidence and determination.

Startled, she recognized the eyes, even though the face was now clean-shaven and wearing a healthy, freshly-scrubbed flush, and thick, wild hair had been tamed by a neat haircut. The young man’s momentary look of surprise turned into a wide grin on seeing Sarah’s astonished expression…He hadn’t forgotten her, either.
