The names people play

By On May 17 2013, 9:00 am

Naming my characters is such an integral part of getting to know them, I can’t actually write a word, much less a page or a scene, without nailing that detail down first. Not that I need to name all the characters before I begin. But when it comes to the first major character on page – usually the hero or the heroine – well…

He or she doesn’t get to speak unless I know exactly who is talking.

Luckily, they usually make it clear from word one. In my Retro Romance time travel re-releases, I still remember meeting Shannon and John, and Alex and Cassie. Unfortunately, as a genre-hopping writer, there’s a downside. [...]

Why good stories never end

By On Dec 7 2012, 10:55 am

In a couple of weeks, the last of my mail-order bride books for Retro Romance will be re-released, and I’m having the same feelings I had the first time around when I saw the series coming to a close. One of the best things about this concept was the infinite choice I could give myself [...]
