Vivian's News & Fun Facts

Vivian loves to put easter eggs into her stories, especially the paranormal series. All the Granite Lake Wolves and Takhini Wolves book titles contain at least two story related puns.

One of Viv's favourite movies is The Princess Bride.

Viv doesn't listen to music while writing, because the one time she tried, the lyrics of the song mysteriously ended up on the page in the middle of the story.

All About Vivian Arend

Vivian Arend in one word: Adventurous. In a sentence: Willing to try just about anything once. That wide-eyed attitude has taken her around North America, through parts of Europe, and into Central and South America, often with no running water.

Her optimistic outlook also meant that when challenged to write a book, she gave it a shot, and discovered creating worlds to play in was nearly as addictive as traveling the real one. Now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of both contemporary and paranormal stories, Vivian continues to explore, write and otherwise keep herself well entertained.

Time flies when you’re having fun

As a writer I’m constantly on the lookout for new ideas and inspiration. I’m also desperately trying to find a way to stick 36 hours into each day to have the time to deal with all the ideas and inspiration that looking around me brings.

It truly is a balancing act, whether you’re a writer or a reader. There are only so many hours to spend on writing reading tweeting blogging IMing…oh, and the other stuff like laundry, cooking and family. You know, life?

And yet finding that balance is so important. Doing all the family things and never taking time to read a book, or worse, feeling guilty about reading is NOT the way to go. Read more…

STORM SWEPT – paranormal passion in print

By On Apr 29 2012, 9:30 am

The Pacific Passion series started because I wanted to try two things– First was writing short, hot works that continued the adventure for the same hero/heroine in more than one story. Stormchild, Stormy Seduction and Silent Storm were the result. I loved the challenge of making complete, yet individual stories with lots of passion. Making the next [...]

Tell me a story…

By On Apr 7 2012, 6:21 am

I don't watch a lot of TV or movies. The habit of not watching began back when our children were little and there was nothing on the TV except for 1 1/2 channels–living in the boonies can be a great motivator to find other ways to entertain yourself. Especially when the 1 channel that's clear [...]
