Daughter of Gold is an historical/fantasy romance set in ancient Ireland, and is perhaps my favorite of all nine of my Irish historical romances. Why? Because it features one of my favorite characters – not just the handsome and protective Bryan, and the brave and lovely Niamh (pronounced NEE-ahv), but the fierce, dangerous and very mysterious creature known as the puca.
The puca appears to be a large and rather ugly black pony, but turns out to be something much more. Together Bryan and Niamh must learn its secret in order to save the great summer gathering known as the Lughnasa Fair from the puca’s malevolence. Read more…
