What I’m about to tell you isn’t rocket science. It’s common sense, things we all know we should do, but don’t always.  Writing is a stressful job. Mental and emotional stress effects the body as well as the mind and the psyche. Your body — not your computer, your laptop or your laser printer — is the most important tool you possess as a writer. Don’t neglect it or abuse it or it will fail you when you need it most.

According to the Mayo Clinic website, the three biggest enemies of good health are:

1. Poor nutrition

2. Dehydration

3. Stress

I’d add a fourth — a sedentary lifestyle. That’s a PC euphemism for sitting on your fanny all day in front of a computer writing.  So…
