Rhiannon Sparks admits she’s not a very good witch—she can’t even light a candle without a match—but she keeps trying. At least her talent for business has made her magick shop a huge success. Now if only there was even the faintest flicker in her nonexistent love life.
During a night of eating and drinking, she and her girlfriends cast a candle-magick spell for hot sex. All in good fun, of course. Except Rhiannon accidentally mixes up the words. Instead of a lover, she asks for true love.
Deputy Ryland Stone’s past keeps him firmly rooted in reality. Then he meets Rhiannon and sparks literally fly. One date leads to another, and then they’re practically setting the bedroom on fire…until she reveals the deal breaker.
Though love and magick have found Rhiannon at last, getting a handle on her newly unleashed power is the least of her problems. Unless Ryland accepts that magick exists, he will never accept her for who and what she is.
N.J. has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, time-travelers, seductive handymen, and next-door neighbors with smoldering good looks—all vie for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.

Yeah, we’ve all done it, the long distance romance. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. For me, it’s not ever worked out quite well. So when I started writing The Reluctant Prince, there was a part of the story where I knew it would be a long distance romance, and frankly, the idea terrified me.
Sydney and Hadrian, separated by continents, would have to have, for a good portion of the second act, a long distance relationship. And I wasn’t exactly sure how that would work. I mean, long distance, even just a few hours, could be absolute torture on a relationship.
Continents? Really? Of course, what were they going to do? Sydney lived in the Midwest. Hadrian was Prince of an island in the Mediterranean. Their worlds were separated by an ocean. How was that going to work?
And I remembered this little thing we have.
Texting.
But could it work? I mean, it’s just a bit of text on a screen that my characters were reading from each other, as they lived out their lives. Could that really bind two people together over great distances? Especially in a book. I mean, did people really do that?
I had my doubts.
So imagine my surprise when I started talking to real-life acquaintances who texted. A lot. To people who were in other states, far away from the ones they loved, and while they couldn’t always pick up the phone and call, a text is there, ready and waiting, for that special someone to read. How amazingly relationships could develop over a simple thing like a text. I loved this idea so much, I had to use in The Reluctant Prince, to help bind Hadrian and Sydney together, even though they’re separated by an ocean and a lot of land.
It’s amazing what a little bit of technology can do to bring people together. In this world with such instant access to people, is a long distance relationship really that far away? I don’t think so, at least not anymore. Sydney and Hadrian helped me see that, and it made me love this story all the more.

I like swords. It's true, I do. There's at least one sword in every room of our apartment. Some couples decorate with throw pillows and art prints. My husband and I have rapiers and tapestries of Middle Earth. It's how we roll.
So imagine my joy when I first saw the cover for Blood, Smoke and Mirrors. There was much happy dancing in my kitchen. And aside from being gorgeous, it also embodies everything I love about the book. Magic, swords, and one tough witch.
Here's the blurb to introduce you to said tough witch:
Even a bad witch deserves a second chance.
Wrongly accused of using her magic to harm, the closest Catherine Baker comes to helping others is serving their coffee. Life as an outcast is nothing new, thanks to her father’s reputation, but the injustice stings. Especially since the man she loved turned her in.
Now the man has the gall to show up and suggest she become the next Titania? She’d rather wipe that charming grin off his face with a pot of hot java to the groin.
Alexander Duquesne has never faltered in his duties as a guardian—until now. The lingering guilt over Cat’s exile and the recent death of his best friend have shaken his dedication. With the murder of the old Titania, the faerie realm teeters on the brink of chaos. His new orders: keep Cat alive at all costs.
Hunted by a powerful stranger intent on drawing her into an evil web, Cat reluctantly accepts Lex’s protection and the resurrected desire that comes along with it. Lex faces the fight of his life to keep her safe…and win her back. If they both survive.

A few weeks ago my print book Love 2 Love U was released. Love 2 Love U is an anthology of three novellas—Love Me, Love Me More and 2 Hot 2 Handle. All three of these stories have gotten great reviews and had great ebook sales, so it’s exciting to have them all together in one print volume Here's how one quick fantasy story turned into three popular stories.
Love Me was my very first published story. It was an exciting debut for me and I was so thrilled to get fan mail and some nice reviews for this story, not to mention awesome sales! Then I had another idea involving the same characters, so I wrote Love Me More. It still amazes me how easy those stories were to write. They are quite short, but they just seemed to flow out of me. I’m probably not remembering correctly, but I swear I wrote them each in about an hour. Okay, maybe not, but it was fast!
I wanted to make it a series of three stories because three’s a nice number, don’t you think? But then I got stuck. I really wanted to try my hand at writing a M/M/F or M/F/M ménage story, but I had a hard time imagining Gavin in bed with another dude. Eventually I gave up on that idea and decided Abby deserved her own love story. If anyone could handle two men, it was Abby! And there was 2 Hot 2 Handle.
An aside: Some of you may know that I did in fact come up with a way to get Gavin in bed with another guy, if you’ve read my Samhellion freebie Love Me Tonight
I have to say 2 Hot 2 Handle didn’t quite flow out of me as easily as the first two stories. In my first attempt at writing M/M, I stumbled and hesitated and questioned myself. It was hard. But I like getting inside the male mind and people seem to like my male characters, so I just wrote about two guys who love each other, and imagined what might make them want more. I know this is a fantasy for a lot of women – two hot guys who want to be with you but also with each other. In the end I hope I wrote a satisfying story about an unconventional love and I learned while writing this that love is the same whether it’s for another man, another woman, or both.
Not only was this my first M/M/F story, but it was the first ménage story I’ve written with a HEA for all three characters.
My characters become so real to me and I've become quite fond of all these characters after three books together!
