Author Karen Rose Smith

Karen Rose Smith's plots are all about emotion. She began writing in her early teens when she listened to music and created stories to accompany the songs. After expressing feelings in poetry, earning a degree in English and French, completing short stories that became too long to find a home, she turned to her love of relationships in romance. This award-winning best-selling author (USA Today list and Borders Bestseller List, as well as Amazon's Romance, Contemporary Romance, and Love and Romance Bestseller lists) has sold over 80 books since 1991. Her awards include two Golden Leaf awards in short contemporary romance, the Golden Quill in traditional romance, and Romance Reviews Today's Best series romance award.   An only child, Karen delved into books at an early age.  She learned about kindred spirits from Anne of Green Gables, solved mysteries with Nancy Drew and wished she could have been the rider on The Black Stallion.  Yet even though she escaped often into story worlds, she had many aunts, uncles and cousins around her on weekends.  Her sense of family and relationships began there.  Maybe that’s why families are a strong theme in her novels, along with couples finding love.   As her couples fall in love, she likes to use different settings.  Many of her first releases were set around her home town in Pennsylvania.  Over 75 books later, she now enjoys settings like northern Arizona, New Mexico and Wyoming where the landscape can become as integral to the plot as another character.  There is something about canyons, mountains and the ocean that give her a sense of awe and she likes to bring that to her books.   Karen married her college sweetheart and they have been married for 41 years.  She believes in the power of commitment and the hope that goes along with the promise of everlasting love.  Along with enjoying time with her husband, Karen enjoys cooking, gardening, shopping, listening to music and keeping her three cats company or vice versa.  As Ebbie and London and Zoie chase rainbows from sun catchers, they remind Karen that life isn’t all about work.  Everyone needs that rainbow to chase.  She likes to hear from her readers.  They can e-mail her through her website as well as interact with her on Facebook and Twitter.      Facebook link:!/pages/Karen-Rose-Smith/113599841764?fref=ts   Twitter Link:   Karen’s Romance website:   Karen’s Mystery Website:   Karen’s blog:   IN TOUCH with KAREN ROSE SMITH monthly e-zine:
