Description

Suppose the solution to all your problems is the one thing you never wanted…

It figures the one time Sabrina Cassidy is determined to do the responsible thing, karma kicks in. After four years on the road chasing her musical dream, she’s stranded six hours from home with no money, a ruined credit history—and morning sickness.

Out of options, she swallows her legendary independent streak and calls the only person who won’t hang up on her. Luke, the man she left behind.

Marc Sterling’s first instinct is to protect his business partner and best friend from another broken heart. That means letting her think she’s talking to Luke, then finding a way to send her in the opposite direction.

When he shows up at her hotel room, there’s something in the air beside their customary insults. Sure, her rebellious attitude, smart mouth—and purple panties—still drive him crazy, but now it’s a different kind of crazy. The kind that has him driving her home instead of to the nearest airport.

And when Luke offers to solve all her problems if she’ll only say “I do”, Marc realizes he’s just crazy enough—about her—to forget whose heart he wanted to protect.

Product Warnings

Contains two people who don’t like each other very much, a Toyota that can’t quite handle the road trip home, and a spontaneous proposal. Or two. Or three. And foreplay with—what else—pie filling.

Erin gives us a great story from start to finish. I did not want to put this book down. She has a way of making you laugh and cry as you root for the hero and heroine get together that you just have to keep reading. Sabrina left home four years ago to follow her dreams of being a musician, knowing she could not do it in the small town she grew up in. She left Luke behind with a broken heart when he wouldn’t go with her. Now, with no job and broke she is on her way home. What else could go wrong? How about her car breaks down and she’s dealing with morning sickness. Her best friend is not available to come get her, so she has to call Luke to ask him to come pick her up and drive her back home the remaining six hour drive. The only problem is Luke isn’t the one that meets her at the hotel. Mark has dealt with Sabrina using Luke all their life and he was thrilled when she left years ago. Now she’s calling for Luke and he will not let her hurt his best friend again. When Sabrina calls and wants Luke he pretends to be him and agrees to pick her up. Because Luke would run right out for her he decides not to tell him and goes after her himself. He’ll find a way to talk her out of coming home even if he has to pay her to leave. They have known each other most of their lives and never liked one another. Now Mark is determined to keep her away as much as she is determined to return home. As they argue with each another the sparks start to fly as things heat up and they can’t understand why these feeling are happening and don’t want to accept them. When Luke offers Sabrina a way out of her situation of not having a job and no husband to help raise her child by offering marriage Mark has had all he can take. Will he admit his true feelings for Sabrina before it’s too late, or will she marry the wrong man?

I don't know why I put off reading this one so long. These two are great together! They have quite a bit of playful banter between them and the sex is smokin'! I will never look at a peach, apple, or cherry pie without being horney now ;P I look forward to Luke's story next.

3.5 out of 5 stars, this is a story of finding one's true passion, of overcoming one's fears, and fulfilling those dreams! I really loved the characters!! Sabrina/Seattle is clever, funny, smart-mouthed, and witty while being a passionate singer. Marc is protective, creative, amusing, cocky, flirtatious, and dynamic while being a passionate chef. Together they are the perfect duo to keep each other on their toes while being very supportive of each other's dreams. With that being said, I was very annoyed with how Sabrina kept falling back on Luke. I mean I understand that that was the whole point of the plot but it's like as soon as she gets around Luke she second-guesses her choices and wants making her seem like she looses her backbone altogether. This is why I loved her with Marc because they played off each other well. In addition, when they were together it's the only time that Sabrina made any real choices that worked well for her and were "smart" choices. I recommend this novel to anyone who likes to read a good contemporary romance that has a little comedy thrown in! -- Review By: From Me to You ... I just recently became a fan of Erin Nicholas when I downloaded her book Just Right: The Bradford's book 1. I was barely finished with Just Right and I was downloading the rest of her books. Anything You Want is the first book in a long time that I have really been excited about before it was released. I read many excerpts from Anything You Want on a few different sites and they only made me want more. I love books with strong heroines, equally strong hero's, interesting situations, comedy, drama and the intense feelings they bring to a story. I look for authors whose writing can pull me in to their story and make me feel like I am part of it. Authors that make it impossible to put the books down until the last page has been turned and for the most part we find Happily Ever After. I have found that with Anything You Want. I enjoyed the flow of this book. The sexual tension that built between Marc & Sabrina gave me a chuckle. I liked how it built slowly and they did not just hop right into bed and go from there. This book contained the perfect amount of funny, (hubby thinks I am nuts while I am laughing out loud at times) perfect amount of "Steamy", and the right balance of interfering friends made for a great read. So, to sum this one up... 5 stars from me and I am off now to bake an Apple Pie!

I loved this story. It grabbed me from the first page and wouldn't let me turn away.

I really liked this story at the beginning, but once the reached Justice things went downhill. Marc and Sabrina were great characters in the beginning but then they just seemed to fizzle into nothing. I didn't get Luke's motivation in the story and the problems with her father were all resolved in two sentences??? I spent much of the second half of the book skipping lines.
